Chicago Chapter

Chicago s dynamism leads it to consider itself a leader in reforming public schools, improving public safety initiatives, providing affordable housing, and fostering social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

In view of this, and because it is the second city outside of Mexico that concentrates the largest population of Jalisco origin, it is necessary to enhance the educational and cultural services offered to our compatriots in that metropolis to turn it into a futuristic option for expansion of the UDG Foundation USA, as it is the strategic connection point with the Mexican communities residing in Illinois.  Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.

The presence and activities of the UDG Foundation USA have been consolidated in the Midwest of the United States through the work with social and political leaders and educational authorities to direct projects in favor of our compatriots. This relationship of several years made it possible to build bridges between the people of Jalisco who live in Mexico and those who live in the United States through the joint organization of cultural festivals and the promotion of Mexican traditions.

Once the Los Angeles project was consolidated, the University extended its activities in the United States to the city of Chicago, as it is the second city abroad with the largest Mexican population. Figures from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) revealed that in 2018 in the United States there were 38.5 million people of Mexican origin, of which more than 5.4 million resided in Chicago and its area of influence, so it was necessary to bring education, culture, and outreach services to the Mexican diaspora.
