15 Guadalajara International Film Festival in Los Angeles, FICG in LA. FICG in LA is a window of opportunity for Mexican, Latin, and Ibero-American talent that shows the world its new cinematographic works. The festival is pre- sented in the city of Los Angeles, considered to be the “Cradle of Hispanic Culture” for its strong cultural ties with Latin American communities. The Festival has been strategically designed for the Angelino public to explore the different regional narratives of Latin American films that have been awarded at the International Film Festival in Guadalajara (FICG) in order to reach a wider audience, and inspire a taste for cinema and introduce a compendium of films that encourage reflection on the importance of their culture and identity of origin through film. FICG in LA is a project that supports the consolidation of new film talent by aiding in the final post-production stage of fiction and documentary feature films that address border issues, migration, racism, human rights, social movements and topics of Latin life abroad. FICG in LA has received a good response from the Angelino public, with an attendance of more than 22 thousand spectators since 2011 enjoying the festival.
